Static stretches are generally recommended to be held for 20-45 seconds; adjust the duration and repeat count to your own routine.

How Do I Use the Stretch Timer?

The stretch timer is a simple tool that helps you time each movement in your stretching routine for a duration you set in advance. Sports-science literature generally recommends holding static stretches for 20-45 seconds; shorter durations may be insufficient for flexibility gains, while excessively long holds can, in some cases, temporarily reduce performance. Just set your stretch duration and how many different stretches you'll perform, then hit Start — the timer sounds an audio cue at the end of each stretch to prompt you to move to the next one. As a general guideline, dynamic stretches are best suited before training and static stretches after training.
